SPEECH AND LANGUAGE SERVICES
RECEPTIVE LANGUAGE DISORDERS / DELAYS
Difficulty comprehending language concepts such as verbal directions, grammar rules, descriptive and quantitative concepts, recalling information, and story details.
EXPRESSIVE LANGUAGE DISORDERS / DELAYS
Difficulty with “output” of language, thus presenting delays in expressing wants/needs, using age appropriate vocabulary, elaborating grammatically appropriate sentences, and engaging in story-telling.
SOCIAL COMMUNICATION DISORDER
Deficiencies using language in daily interactions such as engaging in social interactions, conversations, perspective taking, using self-monitoring skills, comprehending non-verbal cues and communicators intent.
SPEECH SOUND DISORDERS
Difficulty producing age-appropriate speech sounds due to imprecise placement, sequencing, timing, and coordination of the oral structures, thus making the speaker hard to comprehend.
FEEDING & SWALLOWING DISORDER
Difficulties tolerating and enjoying a wide variety of food groups, and/or appropriately sucking, masticating (chew) and swallowing foods and liquids.
PLAY SKILLS
Ability to attend, participate in age-appropriate play while fostering pre-linguistic, listening, expressive language and social skills.
EARLY INTERVENTION
Therapy services designed to support children ages birth to 3 years and their families. Services are designed to support cognitive, play, receptive and expressive language skills.
AAC
Alternative modes of communication (i.e., signs, no tech or high technology systems) in order to augment communication and participate in daily interactions.
